National women physicians day 2026
Women’s Physician Day 2026 was more than a moment of recognition. It was a powerful demonstration of what happens when physicians lead locally and impact nationally.
Across our social platforms, we saw physicians sharing their stories, honoring mentors, celebrating colleagues, and reflecting on their journeys in medicine. The collective engagement was meaningful. Posts were reshared. Stories were uplifted. Voices were amplified. The strength of this community was visible in every interaction.
Most notably, we proudly hosted four official #WIMbassador National Collective activations across the country.
Brooklyn WIMbassador Event 2.3.2026
Brooklyn, NYC – In Person
Hosted at Brooklyn Community Hospital and led by WIMbassador Priyanka Singh, MD, this activation created a dedicated space for connection and celebration within her institution.
Chicago WIMbassador Event 2.3.2026
Chicago, IL - In Person
Hosted by WIM Partner, The Mather Group and led by WIM HQ leadership, including WIM Founder Shikha Jain, MD, the Chicago activation connected local WIMbassadors, physicians across all stages of training and practice from students to established leaders, and valued partners committed to advancing women in medicine’s mission.
Military and Veteran Event 2.3.2026
Military and Veteran Community – Virtual
This activation ensured that physicians serving in military and veteran communities were recognized and included. The webinar was led by WIMbassadors Andrea Austin, MD, MHPE, and Jessica Bunin, MD, FACP, FCCM, whose commitment to this community reflects the spirit of service at the heart of medicine.
NYC-Westchester 2.3.2026
NYC-Westchester, NY - In-Person
Sponsored by Alexion, Seqirus, Johnson & Johnson, ParatekPharma, and Keenova / Mallinckrodt Pharma, this sold-out Manhattan–Westchester activation brought physicians together for an intimate evening of connection and engagement at Zuma Restaurant in New York. Led by WIMbassadors Katherine Hochman, MD, MBA, and Nazish Ilyas, MD, MHA, with a keynote featuring Deepa Kumaraiah, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of New York-Presbyterian, the dinner created space for meaningful cross-specialty dialogue, relationship building, and shared reflection on leadership in medicine.
Together, these activations reflect the core of Women in Medicine® and the strength of our newest national initiative, the WIMbassador Program, which champions visible leadership, meaningful connection, and collective impact driven by local voices across our communities.
Women’s Physician Day is a powerful moment of recognition, but our commitment to advancing equity, leadership, and community in medicine extends far beyond a single day.
Be the Voice. Lead the Change. Lift as You Rise.
